Ostin taannoin koneen HP Pavilion Slimline s3050.sc ja nyt tarvitsisi vaihtaa hieman koneen osia. Huomasin että tietokoneen koko on niin pieni, että en saa sinne uudempaa näytönohjainta. Ajattelin siis vaihtaa myös kotelon, mutta en tiedä onko se mahdollista tämäntyyppiselle koneelle. Kysymykseni siis:

Voit vaihtaa osia, mutta se on eri asia kannattaako. Millaista käyttöä koneella on ja mihin sen pitäis riittää? Voit vaihtaa kotelon, ei mitään ongelmaa. Osien sopivuus vaihtelee: Tuetut prossut on tuossa viestissäsi jo listattu, muistiksi sopii DDR2-tyyppinen muisti (en oikein ymmärtänyt tukeeko tuo vain 2 gigaan asti: "Supports up to 2 GB"). Näytönohjaimesta en oikein saanut mitään irti, ei ainakaan sattunut silmään onko se AGP- vai PCI-e -väyllä. Jos vaihdat osia, täytyy virtalähde mahdollisesti vaihtaa tehokkaampaan.
Pakettikoneista kannattaa kyllä vaihtaa lähes kaikki. Emo, muistit, prossu ja näyttis. Tietysti jälkimmäisen myötä virtalähdekin, kun merkkikoneiden laatu on niin huima. Koteloon tuskin uusi emo mahtuu. Tietysti kannattamattomampaa päivitystä vois olla se, että vaihdat prossun E6700:n, ostat uuden virturin ja näytönohjaimen. 16x PCI-Etä tukee emo, joten hyvän näytönohjaimen saat. Hintaa tulee, mutta hyöty voi jäädä vähän pienemmäksi.
