mutta samapa tuo
ja hyvin toimii gt4 1.4 firmwarella
eikä ole jäänyt jumiin kuten joku sano tuossa aikasemmin ainakaan vielä

CrazyC has done it again releasing an experimental patch for HDLoader that allows has preliminary Dual Layer support! So Far he has only Tested God Of War but it is working perfectly. You can get the download and more info at This thread. Once thanks to crazyC for all of the great hdloader hacks he continues to bring the scene.

Ei siinä make ollut yhtään v'ttuilua vaan senhetkinen tosiasia. Kukaan ei ollu vielä saanu toimivaa kopioa siihen mennessä. Eikä ole varmaa saako vieläkään. Seurailen kokoajan tarkasti noita gt4 foorumeja ja releasegrouppien touhuja ja olen varma että ennen infinityn 1.4 päivitystä se ei ole ollut mahdollista. Että siinä.

make200: Millä / miten poltit GT4:sen? Mul on kans Matrix Infinity 1.4 ja poltin ISO tiedoston dvd decrypterillä. Ei lähde edes lataamaan vaan pyytää ps2 yhteensopivaa levyä!? Pitääkö ISO tiedostolle tehdä jotain?

Onnistuiko 1.4 päivitys varmasti. Tuo virheilmoitus näyttää että piiri ei toimi. Jos muut kopiot toimii niin sitten itse kopiossa on vikaa. Pari kertaa on tullut semmoinen kopio mulla että kone noin ilmoittaa. Nuo dualit vaan on sen verran arvokkaita että montaa ei viitti testimielessä käryttää.

Piirin päivitys kyllä onnistui, koska muut varmuuskopiot toimivat. Pitääkö dvd decrypterin asetuksista valita jotain layer0 ja layer1 asetuksia tms.? Mun ISO tiedosto on 5.6 gigaa ja epäilen etteivät layerien koot/aloitus kohdat ole oikein poltetussa levyssä. Joo, ei viitsi paljon näillä hinnoilla kokeilla polttamista!
DVD decrypter poltti levylle vain layer0 tiedot, mut layer1 ei löydy levyltä. ISO tiedosto kuitenkin näyttää molemmat layer0 ja layer1 tiedot! Mitä hittoa??

Empä ole tuota dual polttoa kokeillu niin en osaa auttaa. Siitä huolimatta jos saat toimivan kopion aikaan niin ilmoittele kun se edelleen on epäselvää.

älä muuta mitään asetuksia softaan
ota kopio levystä ja polta image dvd+r dl levylle ja infinity piiriin 1.40beta firmis niin toimii

Hittolainen, ei lähteny mokoma toimimaan. Pistin päivitykset ja PS2 ilmoittaa omistavansa Infinity 1.4, mutta ei lähde käyntiin. Stoppaa taas siihen patenttioikeuksien jälkeen :(

Here you have the method to create a correct copy 1:1 from you original PS2 Dual Layer Game
PTP & PS2
PTP are the abbreviations of "Parallel Track Path". This method is supported in the news game librarys for DL disc.
The disc can be treaty how an only disc of double layer (ISO information only in layer 0) or the disc can have double ISO filesystem (in both layers). In this last mode, you can see the disc similar to a double side disc.
From the PS2 console, the developers have two functions: one to know if the disc is dual layer and the LBA from the layer 1 starts and other function
to search a file in layer 0 or layer 1 (you must to specify the layer).
The first function can be used to do a dvd check or to handle a LBAS table to access to the differents files in layer 1. For this reason, it is necessary
create a exact copy (1:1) from you original disc that it respects the layer information.
Some of the competitors of O2 announce support DVD9 when in fact, they have done a patch for the GT4 game only.
I prefer not to deceive to the O2 users: I have made a real patch thinking to support this and others games! So if have done a bad backup, it cannot work under O2 patch, but if you have done a good backup (with the real layer information) it work perfectly. The other solution is to create a patch only for GT4... well if you want to create this patch, you can start now, but i must think in a generic patch and it is not possible to do without a exact copy 1:1. OK?
OTP and PTP differences
OTP are the abbreviations of "Opposite Track Path". This method is used in DVD Video and for you backup under DVD+R DL. The difference betwen PTP and OTP is: in PTP the layers starts from the center of the disc and finish at the border of the disc. In OTP, the first layer start from the center of the disc and finish at the border of the disc, but the second layer is read of opposite form (border to center). So the real change for the software is the layer 1.

Here you have the information about original GT4 game. To create a good backup, it is neccesary the coincidence of the two last lines between your backup and this original. But in addition, a compatibility problem exists.I have done some test with the aid of a friend: if you backup have DVD+R DL as booktype, it work in V4 to V7 and V11 models (V11 is a 'rare' case). In V9, V10 and PSTWO is necessary DVD-ROM book type (or you dvd backup is rejected by the DVD controller and you can can see a precious red screen )
Some models of DVD DL burners put DVD-ROM book type by deffault (surely in new models). But other models need to change the book type manually.
Making the Backup
To create the backup, you need the software DVD Decrypter. Only with this software, you can be sure the backup work. The reason is: DVD Decrypter use a extra file (MDS file) to know how the info must be writed in the differents layers. With other software, you can burn the info but it can have different layer information (so a sector in layer 1 in the original, can be in layer 0 in the copy )
Reading the original disc.
1) Starts DVD Decrypter application. put GT4 game in the DVD burner.
2) Select in the menu Mode->ISO->Read
3) Select the source (you DVD Burner)
4) Select the destination file
5) Click in the ICON decrypt to start
When the operation finish, you have two files: ISO file and MDS file
Writing the DVD+R DL copy
1) Select in the menu Mode->ISO Write
2) Select the file MDS as source
3) Select in the menu Tools->Drive->Change Book Type. Select your appropriate driver and change the book type to DVD-ROM
if you driver is not supported it is possible put DVD-ROM by deffault.
4) Click in the icon to write (if you have a DVD+R DL of course! )

As you can see, in the Physical information last recorded, the booktype is DVD-ROM. With this information the backup works in alls PS2
The layer information is the same, so my patch can work correctly
About 1.61: the betatesters have the patch. i hope to release this patch in short time. This patch is not thinking in HDL support. For this support you have a patch from the ps2 scene, the right way to patch only a game.
The new patch can be considerer as one beta: to test this new support and the surprise (i hope you wild be happy with this new feature )
Please, to do the backup use this method: if you use other and the disc don't work, you are the responsible.

No niin. Nyt on Team Toxicin poijjaat tehneet näppärän pikku apuohjelman, joka pätsää Dual-layer imaget, niin että DL-levylle poltettuna pelin pitäisi toimia PS2:ssa. Pätsi ei ole modisidonnainen, vaan pitäisi toimia kaikkien modipiirien kanssa.

As many of you are probably aware, the PS2 has problems running DVD9 games backed up onto dual layer media due to to problems reading from the second layer. This is because the data format on burnt DL discs is different than on pressed discs (burnt = OTP, pressed = PTP). However, we have discovered a software hack which allows the PS2 to read even burnt OTP discs resulting in working dual layer backups! Our Toxic firmware for DMS4 chips already includes auto-patching functionality which applies our software hack on the fly when booting games on dual layer media. For those without a DMS4, we present the Toxic Dual Layer Image Patcher! The patcher works by applying our software hack to the game image (.iso, .gi etc) before burning. Once the hack has been applied by our patcher, burn the modified image to dual layer media
and play! This method will enable anybody with a modchip capable of booting DVD9 media to backup and _play_ DVD9 games such as Gran Turismo 4.

On julkaistu, vaati vain hieman töitä päästä siihen käsiksi koska ainoa tähän hätään löytämäni host on www.ps2nfo.com joka vaatii rekisteröitymisen ja jonka käyttäjäpolitiikka on hyvin kyseenalainen: Rekisteröityessä monet sähköpostiosoitteet ovat jostain syystä bannattuja jo valmiiksi (esim. *@jippii.fi), ja lisäksi lukemattomien käyttäjien tunnukset ovat sulkeutuneet yhtäkkiä tai on tullut IP-bannia ja kun perään on alettu kyselemään on kerrottu parinkymmenen taalan "lahjoituksen" auttavan avaamisessa... :P Itse sain rekisteröidyttyä kolmannella kokeilemallani postilaatikolla.

Kuuleman mukaan toimii, mutta tottakai vaikuttavina tekijöinä voivat olla mm. polton epäonnistuminen, koneen lukuongelmat sun muut samat jipot kuin muidenkin varmuuskopioiden kanssa. Kokeilen itse iltasella kunhan saan ensin haettua jostain pari DL-levyä.

tuli vaan tästä mileen että mistä saan noita dl-levyjä? ei näkyny äsken kun kävin kaupoilla........perskeles täytynee tilata samalla nierlestä kun tilaan noita tavallisiakin dvd-r levyjä.....mutta onko ehdotuksia missä kaupassa noita olis?

Paskat minäkään mitään päässyt kokeilemaan, ilmeisesti olen ollut tätä ennen todella ulkona DL-levyjen saatavuudesta kotimaassa mutta totuus valkeni hyvin synkästi ja nopeasti kierreltyäni paikalliset liikkeet läpi. Näinköhän tässä joutuu itsekin vääntämään Nierlelle tilauksen muutaman kapisen levyn takia...
