"I bought this monitor for $860 shortly after it came out and after having used it for a couple of months, I have to say that this is the most satisfying computer/electronics purchase I've every made. There are no dead pixel or backlight problems. The monitor is solidly built as is the highly-adjustable stand that it comes with. The color and picture quality are superb for desktop applications. This is immediately apparent when I walk into the Apple store. Where I once stood in awe of the Apple 30" I now think it looks dull and lacking in contrast in comparison to this monitor. Much of the same can be said about every other LCD I've seen since owning this one, including the Dell 2005fpw, which I upgraded from. I do a bit of gaming too and I must say that this is as good as any nice CRT I've played on. There's no picture lag that I can see and the monitor is great in that it lets you choose how you want to scale lower resolutions rather than just stretching them to full screen like so many other brands of LCDs do. So if I'm playing a FPS at 1280x1024 to get higher frame rates, I can leave the picture sharp and unstretched in the center of the display rather than have to deal with the usual graniness that acompanies using lower resolutions on an LCD. I have to say though, that even unstretched the picture at 1280x768 is very useable at about 17". Likewise, games that don't support widescreen can simply be played at 1600x1200 with two black strips on the sides and no funky stretching of the picture. The bottom line is that there are simply no compromises that need to be made with this monitor. Whether your gaming, working, or surfing the web, you will not regret getting one of these babies."
