20) I cannot play Vietcong. I get error message "HradBa anticheat initialization failed." What causes this and is there anything I can do?

HradBa uses some Windows features that are also used by Internet Explorer. Generally, players should have their IE cipher strength set to 128-bit. We know this error occurs in Win98, WinME and Win2000. The solution will depend on what Operating System (OS) you have.

The Internet Explorer selected cipher strength setting also has an effect: users with cipher strength set at 16 or 56 have reported problems. Users with cipher strength set at 128 have not reported this problem. In MS IE, click on Help > About Internet Explorer > to find out what cipher strength you are running.

Win98 Solution
This problem occurs for Win98 users who do not have the latest MS Internet Explorer version, i.e. IE 6.0 or later. HradBa uses some features unique to IE 6.0.

Win2000 Solution
One player had Win2000 and IE6.0, but he still couldn't initialize HradBa. But he had 56-bit cipher strength in his IE. He installed Win2000 ServicePack4, changed cipher strength to 128-bit and VC runs!

WinME Solution
We continue our efforts to isolate the cause of this problem in WinME.

Are you aware that HradBa does not work with Microsoft?s Windows Vista? Does Vista mean the final curtain for Vietcong or is there a chance for further support?

We are aware of the compatibility issues between Vietcong and the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system. However, currently, we cannot look into and correct the problem due to our development plans with Illusion Softworks.
