Hiukan mietitytti onko tämä Windows-ongelma vaiko rautapuolen tahi ajuri/softa ongelma. Laitoin sen nyt tänne ja siirtäköön joku, jos näkee tarpeelliseksi.
Ongelma:
Kun käynnistän minkä tahansa pelin, niin kone toimii 2s-5min ja kaatuu sen jälkeen. Jälkeensä se jättää joko pelkästään tyhjän sinisen ruudun tai BSOD:n seuraavanlaisella virheilmoituksella:

Aloitetaan fyysisen muistin vedostus
Fyysisen muistin vedostus suoritettu.
Yritetty:
-Ajettu molemmat muistikammat erikseen kolme kertaa memtestillä läpi ilman virheitä.
-Rasitettu prosessoria SuperPi:llä ilman ongelmia,
-Samalla seuraten lämpöjä, jotka pysyvät kohtuuden rajoissa.
Käyttöjärjestelmänä on Windows Xp home edition sp3, prossuna joku AMD 64 3000+, muistia 1gb (512Mb/kampa), näyttiksenä Radeon 9600xt.
Mitä kannattaa kokeilla seuraavaksi? Onko ongelma näytönohjaimessa ja millä tämän voisi testata?

VAL - MCi_STATUS register is valid
Indicates that the information contained within the IA32_MCi_STATUS

En tiedä onko tästä mitään apua mutta itsellä teki samaa ongelmaa ilman tuota hirveää teksti liutaa, eli kun aloitin pelin se toimi sellaiset pari minuuttia ja kone meni jumiin --> reboottaa itse itsensä ja siinä se, ei mitään vika ilmoituksia. Viaksi paljastui tehoton näytönohjain joka ei sitten yhden 5 minuuttisen pelikokemuksen jälkeen enää suostunut kuvaa näyttämään ollenkaan ( valkoista ruutu täynnä koko ajan) Ei muutakun uutta tehokkaampaa näytönohjainta kehiin ja ei enää boottaillut.

Unohdin tosiaan mainita, että testatessani muistikampoja memtestillä kokeilin myös pelin pelaamista molemmilla kammoilla erikseen. Sama vika jatkui edelleen, eli muistikammat ovat luultavasti ehjät.
Itse olen vähän kallistunut tuohon näytönohjaimeen. Millä sen kunnon voisi testata ilman toista näytönohjainta, jota ei nyt ole saatavilla. Olisiko ideoita?

Googlettamalla näyttäisi tolla error koodilla olleen yleensä vika käyttiksessä eli softavika.
1.Kokeile järjestelmän palautusta ennen vikaa
2.Kokeile korjausasennusta
3.Windows uudelleenasennus
Aina on olemassa tosiaankin mahdollisuus että vika on raudassa mutta halvin ratkaisu on kokeilla asentaa käyttis uudestaan:)

Itseä edelleen epäilyttää tuo näytönohjain, eikä kiinnostaisi ruveta asentamaan Windowsia uudelleen ennen kuin olen tutkinut sitä.
Mikä ajuri olisi kaikista vakain Ati Radeon 9600xt näytönohjaimelle, jos yrittäsin asennella ajureita siihen uudelleen? Ja olisiko jossakin ohjeita, miten poistetaan vanhat Atin ajurin niin, että niistä ei jää mitään jäämiä?

Kerkesin nyt kokeilemaan tuon näytönohjaimen ajurien uudelleenasennusta. Vanhat pois Lisää ja poista sovelluksella ja sen jälkeen ajoin vielä Driver Cleanerillä loputkin jämät pois. Sen jälkeen asensin uusimmat ajurit Atin sivuilta. Mutta edelleen iskee BSOD pelejä pelatessa.
Tapahtumienvalvontalokissa näkyy virhe, ilmeisesti aina käynnistyksen yhteydessä näin:
Virhe Service Control Manager Tapahtuma 7026. Voisiko tuo jotenkin liittyä ongelmaani?
Mitä voisi yrittää seuraavaksi? Koko järjestelmän uudelleenasennus ei innostaisi kauheasti.

Tämä ongelma ilmenee, koska tietokoneen suoritin tunnisti vakavan laitteistovirheen ja raportoi sen Windows XP:lle. Suoritin teki tämän käyttämällä Pentium-suoritinten Machine Check Exception (MCE) -ominaisuuden tai joidenkin Pentium Pro -suoritinten Machine Check Architecture (MCA) -ominaisuuden avulla. Seuraavat tekijät saattavat aiheuttaa tämän virhesanoman:
järjestelmäväylän virheet
muistivirheet, joita voivat olla pariteetti- tai ECC (Error Correction Code) ongelmat
välimuistivirheet suorittimessa tai laitteistossa
suorittimen TLB (Translation Lookaside Buffers) -virheet
muut tunnistetut suoritinvalmistajakohtaiset laitteisto-ongelmat

Kyllähän tuo vaivasi näyttäisi viittaavan laitepuolen häikkään
.. ei muuta kuin toinen näytönohjain koetukseen ja sille kunnon ajurit sisään.
Olethan jo testaillut RAMit, kovalevyt, lämmöt (eikä prossaa/näyttistä kelloteltu?)
.. no, virtalähteen suhteen jotain kuvaa siitä, että rasitustestit menivät läpi. Onko halpavirtalähde, miten vanha?

Joo RAMit oli testattu, kovalevyt testasin äskön ja lämmöt ovat ok vakiokelloilla pyörivällä prossulla ja näyttiksellä.
Kokeilin nyt toisella näytönohjaimella kokoonpanoa ja kaikki toimi aivan sulavasti. Pelit toimivat normaalisti ja ajoin myös 3DMark 03:sen läpi. Vian täytyi siis olla näytönohjaimessa.

P.S. Onkohan kellään pyörimässä nurkissa GeForce 6600 AGB tason näytönohjainta? Olisin kiinnostunut ostamaan :) Yhteyttä voi ottaa yksityisviestillä.
MUOKS. Tuli vaan vielä mieleen, että voisiko tuossa näytönohjaimessa, Tul Corporation, RADEON 9600XT BRAVO, olla jotain asetusta joka kaataa tämän koneen. Jokin pikku asetus joka on ristiriidassa muun laitteiston kanssa. Onko kenelläkään ideoita?
